I'm a Big Boy Now

Yes, my mommy is bragging that I can sit up already.

The grass and trees and leaves are oh so interesting.

I love life!

More Brian Adventures

We went to the State Fair with my Mom, Allison and Jordan. Brian really enjoyed just watching all the people and animals and of course riding around in his favorite place to be, the backpack. I loved seeing the animals, watching a horse show, and eating fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! All the kids in the pig barn thought Brian was covering his nose because of the pig smell, when he was really just sucking his thumb. It sure gave everyone a laugh though.
The next week we went to the Tracy Aviary with his Aunt Vivian and cousin Xander. Once again Brian just loved riding around seeing new things. Thanks Vivian and Xander!
Most of Brian's adventures take place at home where he is always learning new things and having fun. This morning he was enjoying his activity center while I ate a little breakfast. Nice bed head Brian.
The following video is Brian just hanging out on his changing table and then another clip of him with his dad. He's really starting to talk a lot.

Labor Day and Lumberjacks

Over Labor Day weekend, we spent some time at the Ranch sitting in the hot tub and roasting marshmallows. Then on Sunday we ate at the Hsiao house and on the rainy Labor Day we went bowling.
Brian was even able to get a few zzzzz's in at the bowling ally.

See if you can find our family in the picture below in the midst to Mark's brothers.

This last weekend was my mom's birthday and all she wanted for her birthday was to have everyone help with a few projects around the ranch. When I told Mark this he decided his project for the day would be to cut and split ALL the logs for the winter wood pile. So, he got the chain saw, we left Salt Lake bright and early and he started cutting. It took him the whole morning to cut the logs into pieces and then his favorite part, . . . .
. . .splitting the wood, could actually begin.
He split for hours until after lunch when Dave joined in. Then the fun really began. They had a competition to see how many hits it took to split the log that the other person picked out for them to chop.
Even the kids got involved and stacked all the wood. Well, Evan stacked most of it and Clara, Vivien, and Jordie did what they could to help.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Dear Brian,

I just wanted to write you a little letter to let you know what you have been up to lately. Your dad and I can't believe that you are already over 5 months old and you are getting so big! Overall you seem to thoroughly enjoy life and you love to look around you and observe the world. You are a joy to your parents and we love you so much!

For the last few months you have become particularly good at drooling. Yes, you drool all day long and you want to suck and chew on EVERYTHING. I love how you wake up in the mornings happy and smiley, especially after you get your breakfast. After your morning meal, you hang out with your dad for a few minutes before he heads off to work. Your daddy never fails to get you laughing.
Usually sometime during the day, you'll have a little bath, which you completely love! I have a feeling it's the naked part you really like. I guess there's nothing like being free of clothes.
If you're grumpy and I don't know what to do to make you happy, it almost always works to put you on your changing table, get a nice clean diaper on you, and then take off the rest of your clothes and give you zerberts (some people call them raspberries). That is when I can get you giggling like crazy. You're especially good at laughing on your changing table right before you go to bed.
For lunch, you'll usually eat some oatmeal or rice cereal with some veggies or fruit. You love to eat and experiment with new foods and you always enjoy mealtime. You don't look like it in the picture above, because you're still not sure about the new experience of green beans.
Throughout the day you love to experience the world from all different perspectives. At times you like to roll around on the floor and chew on toys. Other times you love to ride around the backpack or the stroller. All in all, if you have some company and entertainment you are a very happy baby.
I am so happy to be your mom Brian. Thanks for the fun times and all your cute smiles! Keep being that fun loving baby and I love you!

Love,
Your Mommy
