It's been a year since I have posted. I finally have a little spare time to maybe get caught up. I think my blog helps me feel more grateful. When I go back and choose pictures and look at what we did and accomplished I am always filled with gratitude for my life and the people in it. That's a worthy thing to keep going even if I'm a year behind!
June 2024 started with Mark and the boys cutting down the tree/s between our renters yard and the RV shed. The bottom is one trunk, but it quickly splits into two huge trees. Mark needed them taken down for the solar panels going up on the shed roof. They are super tall and not in an easy spot to take down without damaging a fence or building. It took three days, but Mark watches a lot of tree cutting YouTube, and he's also just a really smart capable guy when it comes to this kind of stuff, so he figured it out and gave the boys a good learning experience. Not to mention he saved us thousands of dollars doing it himself.
When it was time for the big one to come down, Mark had a rope tied to the tractor with Brian on it to pull the tree between the fence and the shed. It worked out really well! Mark is amazing! We had a few broken fence panels, but the cost of those was nothing compared to the cost of paying someone to take the tree down and they most likely would have broken them and more. Nice work Mark and boys!
Then Brian and I headed to the USU Leadership Conference with the Student Government. It was my second year and I had more help from my assistant advisor and the assistant principal. It was much less stressful than the year before. It was a successful and exhausting three days! I am glad Brian was there with us.
The SBOs took a few days to paint their parking spots. One day my assistant advisor helped them because I had leg vein surgery to take out my nonworking veins. That wasn't very fun at all.
We went to Jordan's farewell. He is such a great cousin and good example!
Can't let a pretty sky go without a picture. I'm glad I can just take the photo then I get to appreciate the beauty and feel the gratitude again and again.
Back to the ranch we went!
One of my summer tasks was to sell the last little cello we had sitting at our house. I found a nice family that really needed and appreciated it.
This was the last time all the cousins would be together at the ranch. Three of them were heading off on missions. The boys were pretty sad the summer cousin time was coming to a close.
