Labor Day Weekend brought in September! We took the RV up to Flaming Gorge and stayed at the Cooke's cabin with the Cooke and Davis families. We wanted to test it out on a longer trip. It did awesome!
Then it was Homecoming Week at school! This is the busiest time as a Student Government Advisor. We had dress up days and activities all week.
We had powderpuff practice and the powderpuff game. It was a fun night!
Then it was time for the Homecoming Assembly. We took a Student Government group picture after a rehearsal.
The assembly had some fun and some chaos. It was also hot. This next year we are going to try it in the gym even though the football field has been tradition. It's hard to see and hear what's going on outside and we never know the weather!
Then it was Homecoming Football Game Night! We put on a big tailgate and the fun began!
We coordinated Homecoming Royalty announcing at the game. Two of my cute Student Gov kids were king and queen!
To end Homecoming week, we put on a pretty great Homecoming Dance!
Brian took a friend to the dance.
Timmy also went to the dance with his big group of friends and Mark showed up and helped our DJ out a bit. I don't love dances in my old age, but having my whole family there and seeing the boys enjoying it makes it fun for me! I was so relieved to have Homecoming week over after the dance and to have had everything go somewhat smoothly.
Our school pictures came in.
I really dislike mine because I do not like my short bangs. The school puts these pictures out in the hall by the main office. I'll be glad to switch it out in the coming year for hopefully a better pic.
Mark randomly ran into an old mission friend in the Asian market who was visiting from Hong Kong. It was such a coincidence!
The boys had some more cross country meets!
We squeezed in a day with Luke and Sunny up at Strawberry for crawfishing! It's always a good time on the lake! This is Brian out on the paddle board.
After quickly gobbling down the crawfish chowder, the boys headed off with friends that invited them to the BYU game. It was a long but fun day for them!
The boys went to the Utah Symphony one evening with the music department Sympop Club. I am glad they can be well rounded at school and participate in so many different extra activities.
Not pictured in September 2024:
-Labor Day flag take down
-Timmy's tennis practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays and his Saturday matches for Utah Youth Tennis
-Two nights of Parent Teacher Conferences for Jenny with a colonoscopy scheduled for the next day. If you've ever had a colonoscopy you can guess how my conferences went the night before. Needless to say, I now know to schedule staying home for the entire day prior to my next colonoscopy.
-I also had a mammogram in September. I guess it was the month for those fun appointments! Gratefully the results for both came back normal.
