October 2019

I was able to make it to some of Brian's Cross Country meets in October.  He is amazing at endurance! He is in the top 5 in his school and he is only a 6th grader.  He has to race against 9th graders in the meet, but he is always in the top quarter of kids. His coach made him run varsity because he was doing so well.  He is the shortest dark haired kid in purple.

This is after he finished.  He is waiting to see his placing.

I spent a few nights watching the YW play volleyball.

We made caramel apples to usher in Fall!

Mark started catching some monster fish!

Then it was my favorite weekend - General Conference!  I love piling on the coach and snuggling and listening together.

I am so excited about the changes in the Young Women's. LOVE the new theme.

Mark made the BEST bacon, eggs and cheese muffins.  I think Timmy ate 5.

 Games at Nai Nai's house.

Ye Ye's flowers were unbelievable in October!

Football was finished up. The boys had a good season.

Timmy found his Halloween costume.

Brian started riding the bus to school every morning (super early in the dark) since neighbors started riding too. They have to walk a ways, but I like they can walk together.

We played a few games.

Fall break arrived and we got to stay a night at the ranch for our vacation! Because there weren't so many cousins running around the boys spent lots of time shooting targets with their BB guns.  They loved it.

We headed over to play on our property.

They built a bridge.

And tried to make a rock line where we thought the property line was located.

I definitely took in all that Fall beauty!

And the precious time with the boys.

Back to BB guns!

The next day Mark arrived along with freezing temperatures! He brought up the trackhoe. Look at that new truck. It's so nice!

Even though it was really cold he still got out with the boys for some target practice and we hiked our property.

We found the property's top corner marker.  Timmy has his hand on the old marking post.

The kids added a railing to their bridge.

Then we said goodbye to the ranch and brought the horses home! The new feeder system at home seems to be working.  It is so much easier!

The next morning we had to wake early to help the youth with the gardening project at Temple Square. We pulled out all those plants around the Assembly Hall.

I turned 37 in October.  I took a few pictures with Pip to post on my Rover account.  I might start dog sitting.

Pip's profile picture. I do love her.

Timmy went to the orthodontist and got his expander placed.  It happened to be the same day he had his Halloween parade and party.  He was not happy because he couldn't talk or eat.  Poor kid.

I found a new home for Pearl the bunny since the boys weren't helping with her.

And I enjoyed the horses.

I love how easy it is to say hello to them at the feeders now.

We did do some cello practicing.  Timmy tried playing it backwards.

We had a lovely Saturday run at the park.

Mark sold a bamboo fly rod.

Pip waited for someone to throw her a ball.

We stopped at the "Halloween House" on the way back from orchestra for a little candy.

And we woke up to a blanket of snow on several days in October! I'm okay with it because it helped me feel justified in pulling out and playing Christmas music.

The youth planned a haunted house and games for the night before Halloween.  It was crazy cold but they did a great job and we all had fun!

Even Timmy got cold one night and looked like this in the morning.  If Timmy gets cold we know it is really cold!

Halloween day came and the kids had their well child checks. The Dr. checked their blood and we learned Timmy is anemic and Brian has high cholesterol.  Weird.

This is how Brian felt about getting his next round of immunizations since kindergarten.

After the Dr. visit we had dinner and met some friends for trick-or-treating!  It was very cold but fun!

On to November and Christmas music!  I am so proud of myself for getting October done on November 1.
