September 2019

On the first day of September, we said goodbye to our friends and left their cabin at Flaming Gorge.  We stopped at Carter Creek on the way home to let Mark teach the boys a little fly fishing.  There were lots of bugs around their heads and lots of trees to get snagged on and it was a lot harder than at the lake we backpacked to.  So in the end they played and Mark fished.  But it was still a beautiful place to enjoy.

Tennis lessons from dad continued on Monday evenings! Timmy now says his favorite sport is tennis.

I have been attending a teaching Seminary class at the institute.  In the manual I was reading I came across this picture of my beautiful Aunt Kay who passed away last year.  She was definitely a wonderful example of someone who taught with real Christlike love.

I have learned so much in the class. Now the trick is to remember it all.

We traded in our old car and truck for nice and newer models.

The boys started orchestra with the Young Chamber Orchestra.  They rehearse each Monday. It is so good for them!

The young women made doughnuts!

Mark had to dig up the front yard to find the broken wire that killed the sprinklers.

We celebrated Nai's Nai's birthday and Lao Lao's visit with eating crab!

And lots of Ye Ye's Asian pears.

Mark fished and caught some big ones.

Early one Saturday morning, Mark was in charge of the Stake Family Hike.  It was mid September and it snowed the night before, but we held the hike anyway!  Mark stayed at the bottom to cook breakfast for everyone and the boys and I went hiking.

Right at the beginning we ran into a moose.

Lake Mary was beautiful with the snow.

Back at the bottom we found there to be many more people than expected! Mark did an amazing job making them all breakfast sandwiches.

We discovered a great Korean BBQ place close to us.  I am so happy and can't wait to go back!

Timmy helped me drop off all the donations the youth got for their service project.

Brian had a eye appointment and got contacts!

Football practice.

We had a day off school and headed to the ranch.  I loved seeing my horses.  I really miss them when they are at the ranch.

We had neighbors over for Mark's pizza.

Then we had a good family game of Bannanagrams.

This is one early morning after dropping Brian off at school. This year there is a lot of driving with the boys at two different schools.  But I am glad I have a new car to do it in.
